Fulcrum Off-Road 29er Wheels

Fulcrum is one of the leading wheel manufacturers in the road market and is planning 2009 the year that leadership carries over into the MTB wheel market. Fulcrum dives right into the super hot 29er market with two wheelsets the RED METAL 29 XLR and RED METAL 29 SL. The RED METAL 29 XLR is a high end wheelset where the RED METAL 29 SL is a mid-range. Both have oversized hubs with 20mm axles with high-precision sealed bearings. The quick-releases use of the new patented Fulcrum® mechanism which a locking lever that is centered on the axis of the axle. This release is different from the normal releases since it is actuated by the torsion on both ends. The hubs are set up for disk brakes with the 6 ISO bolts standard. The rims use another proprietary technology called MoMag. MoMag eliminates the need to drill holes for the nipples on the top bridge of the rim.
